Summary Dissolution is a shorter and easier way of getting a divorce compared to that of a regular divorce.  There is less paperwork to prepare and less processing of paperwork through the court system.  There is also only one court filing fee to pay between the spouses.   But not everybody can file one. There are strict requirements that must be met to qualify for a Summary Dissolution.  Further, both spouses must sign the document.

THE REQUIREMENTS FOR A SUMMARY DISSOLUTION ARE AS FOLLOWS:

             •  Parties have been married five years or less

             •  No children were both from the marriage

             •  No minor children have been adopted

             •  Wife is not pregnant

             •  Neither party own land or buildings

             •  Community property is worth no more than $33,000

             •  Separate property is worth no more than $33,000

             •  Community debts are no more than $5,000

                 (other than vehicles)

Like a regular divorce, there is six month waiting period before the divorce is final.   After the expiration of the six months, your final judgment paperwork is filed with the court completing and finalizing your divorce.  If you meet the above requirements, your divorce can be inexpensive and simple.
